Santa’s Christmas Rescue

Unlimited streaming online this Christmas from Thursday 10th December - Sunday 3rd January for just £5!

Come and join Santa, Ellie, Izzy (Santa’s Elves) and Rudolph for some festive fun this Christmas season. This year has been a little different for everyone, including Santa and his elves in the North Pole. Santa is very sad that he is not able to meet children from all over the world this Christmas but that does not mean he does not have a special treat for you!

Santa, Ellie, Izzy and Rudolph have filmed a special show called Santa’s Christmas Rescue for children up to age 7 or those simply young at heart, which will be streamed from 10 December for just £5 with unlimited views up until 3 January 2021.  So gather the family together, get your Christmas jumpers on, grab your favourite snacks and get involved in some festive fun.

Ellie, Izzy and Rudolph are all ready for Christmas: the sleigh is ready to fly, the workshop is decorated, the presents are all wrapped but there is just one problem they can’t find Santa! Poor Santa has got buried in the snow. Ellie, Izzy and Rudolph will need all of the children watching to join in to help them as they try to rescue Santa and save Christmas!

Santa also has a special request to make of all the children out there as he would love it if as many children as possible can download and colour in a special Santa’s Christmas Rescue colouring sheet and ask their parents to upload it to social media with the appropriate tags so he can see them – click here to download.

The online streaming of Santa’s Christmas Rescue is a great opportunity for people to support their local theatre in such a difficult time for the industry and to ensure live performance will be back once more next year. Tickets for the show are just £5, however there will also be an option to purchase a ticket at £7.50, with the additional amount going to Acting for Others, a charity supporting theatre professionals throughout the UK.

The show runs for approximately 35 minutes and once purchased can be watched as many times as you like from 10 December until 3 January. Streaming is available from Thursday 10 December, pre-order your tickets from Friday 27 November from www.showcatcher.com

Whilst we are disappointed that we have to cancel the first few dates of our Live Santa show, Santa’s Christmas Rescue at the Belgrade Theatre, we are remaining hopeful that Coventry may move to tier 2 at the national tier review due in a couple of weeks. Should that be the case, then we will open the production at the Belgrade on 17th December, in order for families to enjoy this delightful Christmas show. There will also be an online version of this production available across the whole of the UK from 10th December. More details about this will follow soon.

Santa’s Christmas Rescue sees Santa, Ellie (who works in Santa’s workshop) and Rudolph all ready for Christmas: the sleigh is ready to fly, the workshop is decorated, the presents are all wrapped, but, Ellie and Rudolf have to embark on a mission to rescue Santa who has got himself stuck in the snow.

The production has a running time of forty minutes and will take place in COVID-secure venues in the theatre’s main auditorium. In keeping with government guidelines, audiences will be given staggered entry times using multiple venue and auditorium entrances, seating will be appropriately socially distanced and audience members over the age of 11 will be required to wear a face mask. (Christmas themed and brightly coloured masks are particularly encouraged, as are Christmas jumpers for the adults and dressing up for the children!)

After the performance, the children will be able to talk with Santa on a specially set-up Santa Cam and will each receive a small gift.

After booking your ticket, should you not be able to attend the performance for COVID related reasons, you will receive a full on-line pre-recorded version of the production which can be watched at home as an alternative to attending in person for those who hold a ticket for the production.

Even though Santa can’t accept a letter from you in person this year he would really love it if you wanted to use this special Santa’s Christmas Rescue paper to write your write your Christmas list on and then post it to him at the North Pole.
