Welcome to Imagine Cares

“Sometimes we need someone to simply be there. Not to fix anything, or to do anything in particular, but just to let us know that we are cared for and supported”

First introduced in 2021, Imagine Cares is our dedicated wellbeing resource for everyone working with Imagine Theatre—whether at Head Office, during the year, or as part of our productions across the pantomime and Christmas seasons.

For those joining us in theatres over Christmas 2025, we’re currently updating this year’s programme, but you’ll start to see visible signs of support, including posters and resources backstage and on company noticeboards.

We want you to know: You matter. You are important to us. And Imagine Theatre genuinely cares about you and your wellbeing.

If you ever need support during your time with us, please speak to your Company Manager or reach out to the team at Imagine Head Office. We're here for you.

What is Imagine cares?

The Imagine Cares resource is a continually developing programme designed to support everyone working with us. It is structured around three core pillars:

1. Wellbeing

Our wellbeing support is available to both adults and our junior ensemble members working with us during the pantomime and Christmas season. Resources include:

  • Welcome videos

  • Backstage posters

  • Signposting to external support

  • Ongoing access to our wellbeing materials

These resources are designed to offer practical support throughout your time with us and are available year-round to those who work with Imagine on a permanent basis.

2. Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality

Imagine Theatre is proud to be working in partnership with the UK Theatre Green Book to support and grow our sustainability programme.

  • We were awarded Carbon Neutral status in June 2022

  • As of Spring 2025, we have completed Year 4 of our sustainability journey

  • We are currently reducing our carbon footprint year-on-year

  • While we currently achieve neutrality through offsetting, we are actively setting long-term goals to remove the need for offsetting altogether

3. Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDI&B)

Imagine Theatre is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a working environment that champions diversity, inclusion, and belonging across all areas of our organisation.

In partnership with our parent company, Trafalgar Entertainment, we are actively developing and embedding EDI&B practices to ensure our workplace is open, supportive, and representative of the communities we serve.

Imagine Theatre’s Commitment to Sustainability And CARBON NEUTRALITY

At Imagine Theatre, we’re proud to have achieved carbon neutrality through offsetting in June 2022, and we remain firmly committed to reducing our environmental impact across every area of our work. Now in the fifth year of our carbon journey, we continue to take meaningful steps towards a greener future.

We’ve developed a simple three-point sustainability focus plan:

1.      Zero Carbon Footprint
We’re committed to maintaining carbon neutrality, while reducing our reliance on offsetting year-on-year. We do this by cutting emissions at the source through greener transport, energy-efficient practices, and the use of sustainable materials.

2.      Responsible Consumption
We aim to minimise waste and maximise reuse across all departments – from set construction to costume and prop storage – while promoting circular practices, responsible sourcing, and eco-friendly alternatives in our day-to-day operations.

3.      Culture of Sustainability
We strive to embed environmental awareness at every level of our work – empowering teams, partners, and venues to make greener choices, sharing knowledge and tools, and inspiring collective action across the industry and among our audiences.

One of our key initiatives includes switching to HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel for transporting our main season sets – a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to conventional diesel that significantly reduces emissions.

We believe sustainability is a shared responsibility, and we’d love your support in continuing this important work. Here are a few simple ways you can help:

·        Consolidate deliveries to venues where possible to reduce transport-related emissions.

·        Choose reusables – bring refillable water bottles or use glass milk bottles, and recycle plastics and packaging responsibly.

·        Travel smart – consider car-sharing, public transport, or low-emission travel options when feasible.

·        Minimise waste – think carefully about what you consume, reuse where possible, and avoid single-use items.

·        Think sustainably – small, mindful actions add up and help protect our planet for future generations.

Thank you for joining us in building a more sustainable theatre industry – on stage, behind the scenes, and beyond.
